DEAR PARTICIPANTS,

We are living in the age of disruptive technologies. Opportunities are emerging before our eyes that fundamentally reshape our perception of the world. These developments are no longer present only in our workplaces but also in our everyday lives, increasingly demanding answers to our growing number of questions.

In recent decades, although the pace of the world became significantly faster than before, we were able to absorb new technologies without seeking such intensive explanations and guidance on how to position the achievements of the information society in our lives.

However, the recent advance of artificial intelligence is having such an impact on our lives that it strengthens our need for something that can act as a compass—something that guides us and guarantees the safety of our lives in every field in the future.

Alongside technological progress, the events of the global economy and geopolitics in this decade of uncertainties are far from reassuring. We have undoubtedly entered an era where change is constant, and the speed of change is considerably greater than before. Are we prepared for this dimension of existence? What must we do to preserve the awareness and consciousness of society and the nation, and to strengthen resilience?

We have entered a new era in the development of the information society. Our problems are multi-layered, and their handling must reflect this complexity. The responsibility of state, civil, and industry leaders has never been greater; we must simultaneously spread the advantages of using IT tools in economic life and in the subsystems of society, while also presenting solutions for their safe use. At the same time, we must fight the often invisible battles that aim to safeguard our nation’s economic and security sovereignty to the greatest extent possible.

This year’s INFOTÉR Conference takes place in this spirit. Let us understand and shape the future information society together!
